Completed in 1964, then at 65 floors it was the
tallest residential and tallest reinforced concrete
structure in the world. Seeking to reverse the
pattern of white flight from the cities downtown it
boasted a "no need to leave attitude". It housed
a theatre, gym, pool, ice rink and a plethora of
daily needed stores and dining establishments.
Today it's interestingly dated as Chicago's
downtown revival calls you out on the streets.
